farmhouse // exploring outside

most likely, one day T & i won't live in this house anymore. i wanted to always have a record of our first house together. plus, i wanted to see the changes we've made since we got married & i moved in. thus, the "farmhouse" series was birthed. i decided to do before & after pictures for the rooms because i love seeing the changes. but now, it's time for the outside!

we have three barns on our property. the one you see below is a two story barn & my personal favorite. the fence is actually special because the week after we got home from our honeymoon, my dad, T, and my father in law built this fence for us! we hadn't planned on building one so soon, but the one that was there wasn't reliable & my dog had problems staying inside all day. so, we built a fence!

below you can see the well we have on our property! (and it's actually a real well, so that is neat!) you also see our second barn. then in the bottom right you see our outhouse! yes, we have an outhouse & it is a legit one. this house was originally built without an inside bathroom. i personally am glad the inside bathroom was built before i moved in! :) i love the red barns & green vines...we really do have a gorgeous yard!

we also have a third barn towards the back of our property. my husband keeps a lot of tools & wood in this barn & we park his beetle in here to keep it protected. plus there are 2 groundhogs that have made a home under this barn! we named them Gregg & Greta! they haven't torn anything up around our property yet so we are letting them stay!

there you have it! thanks for coming along with me on this journey to record our first house! :)

if you missed the inside rooms, you can find them here:

  1. That's a super nice fence!! We have a couple outbuildings around our place, too, however most of the ones here are slowly falling down because they're over 100 years old...

  3. When we moved back to our hometown we thought for a while we were going to build a "new" old farmhouse! But alas, the land was too far out in the country. We at least live in an old house with character!

  8. yeah that's the bad thing around here! if you want land, you gotta live far out! i have a 45min-1hour commute to work and it's getting old! but i just love old houses :)

  15. I'm in love with your barns!! I grew up on a farm but it had just a regular modernish barn, not the old red ones.
