instaweek

highlights from my week:
- we survived our first week of training for our 5k in June! it feels good to be running consistently when i never thought i would be! my legs were SO sore after the first run but it feels good to know they are getting stronger! and surprisingly they haven't been sore since that first time! running is also a good stress reliever for me since my job is really stressful right now!

- our fourth passport to fun date was another one for the books! enchiladas, guacamole, sangria, & sombreros - what's not to like?!

- for the past few weeks, we have seen a male & female cardinal flying around our house. and this week we discovered why they are hovering so close to our fence! there is a nest filled with cute baby cardinals in the bush beside our fence! every time the mom leaves the nest, we sneak a peek at the babies & they are just sitting there with their mouths open! so cute! we have tried to be sneaky when we look at the nest though because we don't want to scare the parents off!

- our first anniversary is coming up in less than 2 weeks! we got married on May 17 which also happens to be my husband's birthday! Hallmark says they have a card for every occasion, but turns out they don't sell a "happy birthday AND anniversary" card! (it's actually genius marketing, because they doubled their sales!) but i got 2 cards & i'm prepared on every front & so excited to celebrate life & love!

- it's been another one of those 60+ hour weeks working overtime every night and working all weekend. this was our first month end close in the new system, so it's been really crazy. in fact, we still aren't done so this week will be crazy as well. i am dreaming about my vacation that starts May 16 at 5:00 sharp!
