what was, still is.

I, Robyn, take you, Thomas, to be my wedded husband, and I do promise and covenant, before God and these witnesses, to be your loving and faithful wife. In plenty and in want, in joy and in sorrow, in sickness and in health, regardless of the obstacles we may face together. I promise to support you, respect you, and cherish you as long as we both shall live.

it's been a year since i said these words to you. 365 days since we vowed to love and commit to each other until our last breath. i am thrilled at the fact that it is only the first year of many. and i am amazed how just in this first year we have experienced so many awesome and crazy things together.

our wedding was beautiful but it was only one day. the first of many that will comprise our marriage. at times i can't believe it's been an entire year since we said "i do" and at times i can't believe it's only been a year since we said "i do."

i love the life that we are building together. i love dreaming with you, adventuring with you, and growing alongside of you. you have been a constant encouragement to me, my biggest supporter, and a voice of truth when i need it the most.

when i feel as if the world is nothing but darkness, you shine a light into my life. when i feel that i can't possibly keep moving, you push me to and you move forward with me. when i doubt myself, you are there encouraging me to chase my dreams.

when i am irrational, you are the voice of reason. when i am negative, you are optimistic. when i am stressed, you are calm and collected. when i am unforgiving, you are patient.

when i am excited, you share in my joy. when i have big ideas, you help me achieve them. you share in my hobbies even if you don't understand them. you encourage me to be passionate about things even if you have no interest in them.

you lead me well and you allow me to be my true self. you allow me to take down my guards and you give me a safe place to abide. you are vulnerable and push me to open up to you. you meet my worries, doubts, and fears with encouragement, grace, and understanding.

i love that we have so many similarities and that we both enjoy the simple things. but i have learned to appreciate our differences and allow them to challenge and shape us.

i am so glad we are in this together and that we are making our marriage more beautiful than our wedding!
grow old along with me, the best is yet to come...
