week recap

THOUGHTS FROM THIS WEEK
- i got outside during my lunch break everyday last week. even though it has been hot, it's been a pick-me-up in the middle of the day. i love being able to get outside in the fresh air. & i am very thankful that i can use gym showers to shower off before going back to work!

- i have to do a physical every year for insurance discounts at work. the doctor i normally see was booked solid so i made my appointment with the nurse practitioner. she was very nice, helpful, and even prayed for me before i left my appointment. now that is an awesome doctor's visit!

- because i used to blog during my lunch break & now i am getting outside each day, it is very hard to find time for this space. i am okay with that though. i want this blog to reflect my life & when life is busy that means less posts. i still love blogging & will be posting here, but i'm learning to be okay with the fact that i simply don't have time to post about everything that i want to post about.

FAVORITE THINGS
- the weather has come down to the 70s!
- i started re-reading the Harry Potter books (i have been wanting to for years)
- sleepover with Jenna (who says you are ever too old for sleepovers?)
- saturday hikes & picnics

FAVORITE READS
- did you know the internet can't love you? this post is a gem!
- i love this mythbuster that reminds us God uses the messy!
- this post about why motherhood is not a woman's highest calling really lays out the gospel well!

  1. That's so awesome that she prayed for you before you left! You don't find people like that very often in the medical world anymore, unfortunately.

  2. I think it's great that you're using your lunch time to get outside, even if it means fewer posts here!!! That time is going to be GOOD for you. :)

New doctors/nurses can be a little scary, I'm glad your appointment went so well!

What book are you on? I only read the first three when they first came out (I was a movie girl back then), but I'm collecting the paperbacks now and when I have them all I plan to work my way through them! So far I have 1, 2, and 4.

i am on book 2 now! i have seen the movies a lot since reading the books for the first time & so it is interesting to see the differences between the book & movie! some things surprised me because i forgot they happened or forgot they happened in the way they did! :) that is awesome that you're going to read through them all!!! :)

  5. I am so glad you've been able to get outside lots! That's awesome especially with the weather getting slightly cooler!
And I totally get the busyness, and wondering where to put your blog in the priority line up! Sometimes, life happens...and if we didn't live our lives first and foremost..we'd have nothing to blog about anyways.
Lots of grace here girl! :)

  7. Which book do you remember being your favorite?

Which movie has been your favorite?

I always thought book 2 was my favorite (of the three that I read)...The first movie was my favorite, but then there were a few after it that I REALLY liked also. In the end, the very last movie was my favorite in that I felt like we had finally all grown up and were ready for whatever was next. I know that's kind of weird, but I felt like I grew up with the trio and since it was over for them, it was over for all of us as well.

  9. i felt the same way about the last movie! and we did kinda grow up alongside them so it makes sense! :) my favorite book was definitely book 6! the story started really connecting in that book! my favorite movie is the 6th one too! :) i just love the storyline of it!

i liked the last book too, but it was pretty slow when they were wandering around for 1/2 of the book. i know it was needed to really make you feel how they felt.... but i don't like slow :)

  12. yes! :) definitely yay for the weather & sleepovers!! they will always be fun!

it's been a struggle here lately. like i love blogging & having this to look back on, but at the same time it just can't be a super high priority. there are things more important! being okay with that takes some of the pressure/stress off too! :)

i saw that red leaf when i was walking out of Panera & ran over to pick it up and snap a picture! it's like the perfect fall leaf! ha! :)

  13. Yeah...I can't take slow moving books. Thanks for the heads up and warning! I might have been super disappointed, but now I'll go into it expecting it to be a bit slow towards the end of the series. :)

  14. It is so refreshing to get outside in the middle of a work day! I love hearing that about your doctor visit too. My son's pediatrician prays with us during visits, and we appreciate it so much. We were pretty shocked the first time since humble boldness like that is so rare these days. Have a great weekend!

  15. I love being outside this time of year. I spend from 8:30-5 inside every day and it can be very taxing. and i love that you want your blog to reflect your life - that is refreshing.

  16. I can't blog at work. My concentration is zero by the time lunch rolls around, so I always go outside for a bit. It's so nice to get away from the computer! I'm glad you're doing that, although it IS hard to find time to blog during the rest of my free time.

  19. i completely understand!! my brain is mush by the middle of the day! i honestly don't even know how i did it before! now that it's not 100 degrees it's doable to go outside & not sweat buckets! ha! yes the break from the computer is so nice! sometimes i bring a book to read, but that kinda exhausts me too!

  20. I used to be able to blog at work, so now that I can't even check my EMAIL or even access twitter if I wanted to, I work pretty much a second full time job when I get home...which definitely isn't for everyone. Oh, and that photo of your coffee and book make me really want to go read!
