passport to fun | Athens, Greece

our September passport to fun date ended up being an early October passport to fun date! this time we went to Athens, Greece! i am not a huge Greek food fan, but Thomas loves it! so we picked up dinner from one of our favorite Greek/Italian eateries.

Thomas got Chicken Souvlaki for his dinner & i tried a little bit of it. it is probably one of the Greek dishes that i would enjoy! i just can't get into the Tzatziki sauce but Thomas absolutely loves it! if i could replace the Tzatziki sauce with hummus that would be my perfect meal!

we were a little short on time, so we took the food home & watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding while we ate! i had big plans for a toga party for 2, but Thomas wasn't exactly thrilled about it! ha! we didn't have any white sheets, so we forwent the togas & just enjoyed a low key date at home, family style. only, a lot smaller than a traditional Greek family!

do you like Greek food? what's your favorite dish?

  1. Fun!!! I really need to get working on this project! I love that you guys find ways to make it easy and enjoyable and "real". I'm glad that you found something you could eat too! My great-grandparents came to America from Syria and Turkey in 1912ish, so middle eastern food runs in my blood. I have my favorites and my "no-thank yous" though! :)

  7. I completely understand the picky eating thing. I always tell people that I'm not picky, I just eat GOOD food. ;)

  8. Love your blog Robyn! What a cool idea. I've never heard of Passport to Fun. Traveling is one of my passions. Since having my son, my travel prospects have slowed down a lot so I really love this idea.

    Thanks for the inspiration!

  9. I went to Greece in 2009 for 11 days, and I had the most amazing Greek salad and gyro. And now I just can't eat one in the US. It's not the same!
