Great Christmas Exchange 2014

one thing that i love about blogging is the amount of snail mail swaps available to participate in! i love sending mail & getting mail... so the Great Christmas Exchange is right down my alley! i participated in 2013 & had such a blast that i knew i had to do it again! giving gifts is one of my love languages, so when we had some money leftover in our Christmas budget i knew i wanted to use it for the Great Christmas Exchange! it's fun to surprise someone with a gift & make new friends along the way!

WHAT I GAVE
one cool thing about the exchange this year was that they used Elfster to host it. i had never used Elfster before, but it's really neat! you can create a wishlist & even ask anonymous questions. so when i found out that i got Tabitha to buy for, i was able to ask her a few questions to get my ideas started. she told me that she loved hot drinks of any kind & that she collected tea cups. so i knew i wanted to do a tea themed gift.

i came across this adorable tea cup & saucer set and just knew that was the gift! the tea cup has a bird on the handle, and the saucer is actually in the shape of a bird (although it's hard to tell in the picture)! i sent along a sampling of 4 different teas as well as a few sachets of my favorite Harney & Sons tea - Hot Cinnamon Spice! i saw on Elfster that Tabitha's birthday is December 21st so i made a Christmas & birthday card to send her. i also threw in one of our Minted Christmas cards and some peppermints to make it festive!

WHAT I RECEIVED

i received a package from Amanda & she just completely spoiled me! i love every single thing she sent me! she got me a few things from my wishlist but also a few things that were a surprise & she did a great job picking it out! she nailed my style to a T! the "adventure awaits" print was in a pretty gold frame, but the box got dropped along the way and the frame broke. luckily, the print survived though!

i have been eyeing those birch tree paper straws for a while now & i am super excited to finally own some! same goes with the mason jar cookie cutter - i foresee cute cookies & crafts to come! Reese's are my favorite candy & the Christmas Blend coffee just may be in my top 5! i had never had it before, but it's delicious! i am loving my new monogrammed mug & i am always on the lookout for new journals! so this was just perfect! thank you so much Amanda!
