the woods are lovely, dark, and deep

the sun rays are warm against my skin, and the air is crisp and fresh. you can smell it, it's spring. the windy mountain roads have never been my favorite, but today... today they have promise. promise of a getaway. promise of a restful weekend. promise of new adventures.

sitting around the fire. basking in the glow. pouring through pages. boiling water for coffee. sharing stories & laughter. discussing dreams. planning the years to come. snuggling with the basset.

exploring trails. enjoying the stillness of the woods. refreshing our souls. doing life together in the simplest of ways. weekends like this are needed more often.

  4. I can't believe it's warm enough to camp already! We can't start until May or June but I do love weekends like that. And my favourite part is waiting for coffee to boil on the fire. I know it's weird but there is something so wonderful about sitting around a fire with fresh coffee reading a book or chatting

  6. Oooh, more shots from your trip!!!! There's only one thing I cannot approve of and that is that cup of boiled peanuts! :( I think I am the only girl born in SC NOT to like those things. The smell of them makes me gag!

    Everything else looks WONDERFUL though!
