Beaufort | South Carolina

on our way home from Savannah, Thomas decided to make a pit stop in Beaufort to walk around. i had never been to Beaufort and Thomas wanted to show me some of his favorite places. their downtown area is near the waterway so we went to this little coffee shop that Thomas loves & then walked by the water. we even sat in a swing and just enjoyed the sunshine.

it's a neat little town, but we didn't have a lot of time to spend there. so we just walked in a few little shops & then headed back home. the main street was really cute though & reminded me of an old timey town. the only thing i really knew about Beaufort beforehand was that it was near the Marine Corps training facility on Parris Island. but now that i know what a little gem it is, i can't wait to go back & explore more!

have you ever been to Beaufort? what's the neatest small town near you?

  2. How fun! I love some of the old architecture and store signs. Looks like a great place to grab a cup of coffee and sit by the water!

  3. I went to Beaufort as a baby, apparently (ha!), but I'd love to go back and visit again now that I'm old enough to enjoy and appreciate it.

  4. Walk to Remember anybody?? Blame it on Nicholas Sparks for the reason I want to visit Beaufort! haha I love it! Plus, it's next to the water. One of my favorite things. I'v never been to South Carolina in general, but one of my great friends from college lives in SC, so maybe I will get to make a trip sometime. Alabama is full of small towns! My favorite here on the coast is Fairhope. It is the cutest! I might have to take a stroll around there and blog about it. So much cuteness! And...it's by the water! :)

  8. haha! i didn't remember that Walk to Remember was placed in Beaufort! i went to google it & found out that apparently there is a Beaufort, SC and Beaufort, NC! the one i went to is in SC, but the one the book was set in is in NC. sad day, i was thinking it was even cooler for a minute!!

SC is one of my favorite states :) but then i may be a little bit biased! that's so neat that you have a lot of small towns in your state!!! maybe next time i'm that way i'll check out Fairhope! :)
